Europan er en Europæisk sammenslutning som organiserer en arkitektkonkurrence hvert andet år med det formål at realisere de vindende projekter.

Europan har to hovedformål:

Dels giver den de deltagende byer mulighed for at få rettet det internationale spotlys mod deres byer og få vist nye potentialer og innovative svar på de problemstillinger der gør sig gældende der, når unge arkitekter og planlæggere fra hele Europa retter deres blik og idéer mod dem.

Dels er Europan en mulighed for unge arkitekter, planlæggere m.fl. under 40 år, til at sætte deres signatur på den internationale arkitekturscene og være med til at sætte nye dagsordener.

Når man deltager i Europan bliver man del af et stort internationalt netværk med andre byer i Europa, som er dedikeret til at belyse aktuelle problemstillinger inden for byudvikling, planlægning og arkitektur i et internationalt perspektiv og som giver de deltagende byer og unge arkitekter mulighed for at dele erfaringer disse på tværs af landegrænser.

Europan er på den måde et unikt internationalt byudviklingslaboratorium hvor både byer og unge arkitekter har mulighed for at afprøve nye måder for hvordan vi skal udvikle vores byer, byrum og arkitektur på.

Europan is a European collaboration in the field of urban planning and architecture which organizes a competition every second year with the goal to implement the winning ideas.

Europan has two main intentions:

On the one hand it gives the participating cities the possibility of having an international spotlight pointed at them when young architects and planners from all over Europe direct their attention to the cities and their challenges and come up with innovative answers to urban issues.

On the other Europan is a unique possibility for young architects, planners, landscape architects and more under the age of 40 to put their signature on the international stage and this way contributing to new agendas in the field of urban planning.

When cities and young architects participate in Europan they become part of a large international network with other European cities, dedicated to looking into current issues in urban planning and architecture from an international perspective. It works hence as a unique platform which gives both contestants and cities the chance of exchanging experiences and points of view across national borders.

In that way Europan is a unique international lab for city development where both cities and contestants are brought together to test new ways in which we can develop our cities and urban spaces.
